Professional dog walking: Care, Welfare and Professional Practices
The seminars cover both the practical side of running a dog-walking business and the key areas of canine welfare involved in caring for dogs. Topics include legal responsibilities, risk assessment, canine welfare and behaviour, behaviour change, dog-to-dog introductions, body language, handling, and other important but easily overlooked details. Participants also learn relevant science, skills, and business considerations, along with tips from experienced dog walkers. The sessions feature video examples showing real scenarios involving handling, breed-specific behaviour, introductions, and body-language observation. After the fourth seminar, attendees will complete an assessment sheet to finish the series.
